PROVIDENCE RECRUITING JORDAN STEVENS

As the City Rocks AAU Program Continues Their Succsss, the Providence Friars has taken an interest in one of their 2008 prospects.

Jordan Stevens, a 6’5” wing from Saratoga Springs High School, is another player looking to create more of a buzz this upcoming summer on the AAU circuit. He has already been offered by Providence, Rhode Island, Western Kentucky, Fairfield, Albany and is getting looks from Saint Joseph’s and other schools.

“He’s getting a lot of mail right now,” according to Carmen Maciariello, the club’s vice president.

New Providence College head coach Keno Davis is still trying to gain his footing in the east coast recruiting battles and his anticipated hiring of Pat Skerry from Rhode Island would be a tremendous move. According to Jeff Goodman of FoxSports.com, if Providence Snags Skerry it would be an absolute home run as Skerry was recently tabbed as the #1 mid-major assistant in a poll Goodman conducted.

KENO DAVIS ADJUSTING TO PC SCENE

Keno Davis’ Transition to Providence Has Been a Challenge from the Start (Providence Journal) and Kevin McNamara updates readers the process Davis is undergoing as he changes jobs and prepares to uproot his family.

Davis is also learning that the Big East microscope is much stronger than that at Drake. Less than two weeks on the job, NY Daily News college basketball columnist took Davis to task on his Hoops on Hoops blog about not being visible at the Providence Jam Fest on the PC campus, an event with many of the top basketball players from the east coach and New England.
